Our Mission
To provide the highest quality psychiatric service while maintaining a "normal"
feeling for my patients. Your confidentiality is always of utmost importance.

I have several areas of high expertise:
preadolescent bipolar disorder and bipolar
disorder
throughout the lifespan in various aspects especially treatment;
psychotherapy and treatment of Dissociative Identity Disorder
and the
Dissociative Spectrum;  and Sleeping disorders. As a child psychiatrist I am
knowledgeable about
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Major
Depressive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and the Pervasive
Developmental Disorders
. As a geriatric psychiatrist in the past five years and
the psychiatric director of several large nursing home facilities, I am aware of the
special needs  of the
elderly. My training and belief in milieu therapy derives from
experiences on term inpatient units; and is very helpful in treating older
institutionalized folks.

I am up to date on a large body of psychiatric literature. My past work has shown
me to be significantly ahead of the curve because of my love for psychiatry and my
profound interest in helping others. I have an excellent foundation and core
understanding of both neuropsychiatric and psychodynamic psychotherapy
principles, which allows me to quickly adapt to and embrace new ideas and
therapies.

Our office is run with the utmost professionalism. Every effort is made to make
you feel welcome. Fifteen years of experience (from a very upscale hospital, a not
so upscale hospital, various mental health facilities, nursing homes, and prior
exclusively long-term psychotherapy clinic) have inspired the design and operation
of our office.

Track Record  (What We Do)
I have a long history of teaching about psychiatric topics to medical and mental
health professionals, and the lay public. I am proud of being named the Mental
Health Professional of  the Year 2005 by the Southwest Missouri chapter of NAMI
(National Alliance of the Mentally Ill).

Additionally, whenever I have given comprehensive psychiatric care at a nursing
home or any long term facility, there have been zero deficiencies.
