| The purpose of this clinic is to provide the highest quality psychiatric care available--offering state of the art diagnosis and treatment, based upon scientific and intuitive assessment of the current research. Various treatments are available: from master clinician psychopharmacology to extensive psychotherapy experience. A lot of effort is put into assessment of the patient’s and/or parent/spouse’s readiness. Appropriate interventions are attuned to the quality of information available; the quality of the therapeutic alliance established; the need to solidify the least restrictive environment possible; the patient and/or the significant other’s comfort zone; and the general health of the patient. There are always several different ways to treat someone. Options are always discussed. Implementation of interventions are always carried out with an eye to the appropriateness of timing. As experts in brain disease, we know: How devastating these illnesses are for the patient and his family. How little specific information is right there immediately available for the patient and his loved ones to access and move forward with any degree of certainty. |
